Event Description: We are starting the 2012 season with our fourth annual entry into the world famous ’Round the Isle of Wight Race’ which is an excellent weekend for beginners and experienced sailors. Join us for the weekend of the race (Dates TBA) aboard a 10-berth yacht. No experience necessary as we will have a pro-skipper with us.
Typical Weekend Example Itinerary:
- Meet your fellow crew and skipper at The Hamble on Friday lunchtime/ early afternoon, take to the water and spend a few hours getting to know the boat, enjoy the evening at a local restaurant getting to know your crewmates, stay on the boat overnight Friday, sail around the Isle of Wight on Saturday as part of the world famous ‘Round the Island Race’, stay overnight on the yacht in Cowes (if there is space available and if we finish the race early), otherwise we berth at the Hamble both nights, enjoy more casual sailing on Sunday, finishing back at the Hamble circa 3pm Sunday.
- Bank holiday weekends also available for groups and include an extra night at no extra cost.
- Prices per person from £295 includes sailing, berthing fees, skipper, breakfast and lunch onboard, etc – Yachts are available for any weekend for groups of 6 or more or the above dates are for singles and solos to join a solos sailing group.
- Oilskins available to hire for about £12 from the Hamble sailing shop – call for details
- Remember sailing is like camping at sea, sharing bedrooms and a loo. It’s intimate so bring a soft foldable bag, sleeping bag, your own pillow etc. We will email a list of the things you need to bring prior to your event.
